Let me explain what happened today. I am 15 weeks pregnant. I was really sick and exhausted today. I layed down with my 2 year old around noon, to get him to take a nap. I was starting to drift out as well when my 4 1/2 yr. old asked if he could ride his bike to his friend's house (just around the corner, is allowed to go often), I told him yes, but if his friend wasn't home or able to play to come right back. I started to fall asleep as I heard him getting ready to leave. The last thing I remember was hearing the garage door open. I woke up at 1:45. I didn't know where he was, I was in my pajamas and couldn't go out to look for him. I called the friend's house and luckily he was there. The mom was a little confused as to why I was just calling now to see if he was there as he'd been there for 2 hours. My thought afterwards was, what if he wasn't there? How dangerous is it for a mother to be sound asleep and/or in the bathroom throwing up or too sick to move from the couch. This potentially could be a dangerous situation for your older children. Anyone else have similar experiences? How did you deal?

"The foundations of admirable character lie in a boy's realistic sense of himself as a human being. He will never be perfect, and he is what he is because others have given to him. With such knowledge comes the possibility of fulfillment, and of character that will continue to be strengthened by choosing to do right, and, after failure, to do better the next time.''
