The key is to not feel like a number... You can't tell me that you don't know anyone who has 1 or 2 kids at home, is a good person (that you trust), and could use the extra money. My neighbor has 2 kids, one in first grade, so he's gone most of the day, and she has a 3 yr. old who's home with her all day. She watches her friend's daughter everyday. So the little girl goes to a home where she is given the attention that a small child needs and she isn't a number there. I have another friend who has watched these 2 kids since they were both born, they are the only kids she watches (besides her own, of course). You don't need to have family, but you do need to think about what is best for your kids.

"The foundations of admirable character lie in a boy's realistic sense of himself as a human being. He will never be perfect, and he is what he is because others have given to him. With such knowledge comes the possibility of fulfillment, and of character that will continue to be strengthened by choosing to do right, and, after failure, to do better the next time.''
